CiEX Work Flow

CiEX participants are able to easily manage their data process through the portal. Users can:

• Create scheduled tasks to retrieve multiple data files from multiple locations. This “fetch” of external files comes with a robust audit and workflow rule system that protects, guarantees and notifies on common transfer issues including:

• File size errors. For example if the file must be larger than 2 megabytes and a file processing is smaller it will not allow the recipient to accept it.

• File line length.

• Stale file alerts. For example, being notified if the file hasn’t changed in 3 days.

• Content descriptor errors. Alerts if the file doesn’t start with the expected characters.

• And more…
• Create scheduled imports of data into well known CiEX types.

• How many products came in today?

• How many failed validations were received?

• How many have warnings?

• How long did it take to process?
• Create build jobs to transform an import into a well known type that is understood by another party.

• Transform my data to look like this so my vendor can accept it.

• Only transform records where the sale price is greater than $10.00.

• Did any records fail translation?

• Fix the failures.
• Create campaigns to deliver data on schedule to a destination    

• For Father’s Day, in the month of June, send these products to this destination.

• Deliver my entire product set every day at 4:00pm to this destination.

• Every time I change anything, immediately send the data to this destination(s).

This sharing of data allows CiEX communities to evolve around shared types and has the net effect of creating an ecosystem of data exchange partners.
